Endoscopy Program

Residents are given the opportunity to tailor their learning settings in the third year. As a result, Cascades East residents can choose to use 4 weeks of their elective time to participate in the Cascades East endoscopy training program.

Our endoscopy program begins with a two-week experience in Portland at OHSU for an intensive using the endoscopy simulator. This intensive is followed by a collaboration between family medicine faculty and community general surgeons who teach endoscopy and provide longitudinal practice opportunities. The average number of lower scopes upon graduation for participants is 100. Tte average number of upper scopes is 50 upon graduation.
