University of New Mexico School of Medicine

Kelly grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and didn’t have a reason to leave until she found the Cascades East Family Medicine Residency! She has always loved science and dreamed of being a veterinarian when she was young. She found her passion for human anatomy and medicine in high school after taking anatomy and physiology her senior year. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology from the University of New Mexico. She also attended medical school at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. She has played volleyball since she was ten years old and has coached middle and high school girls for a total of seven seasons. Kelly and her friend started an intramural coed volleyball team during undergrad (which she played on for 8 years!) with the iconic name of the Out of Shape College Kids, or OOSCK for short. When not playing volleyball, Kelly enjoys hiking, biking, two-stepping, reading, and spending as much time as she can with her husband, Lee, and their two dogs Toby and Silver. Kelly and Lee aspire to one day have a large enough home to adopt as many dogs/animals as they can!

Oregon Health & Science University

After growing up in the rainy regions of the PNW, Ashley came to Klamath Falls to fulfill two personal goals – see more sunshine and stay in Oregon. Ashley is an Oregon native having grown up in Eugene and staying to attend college in her home town, completing her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology at University of Oregon in 3 years while working full time as a retail assistant manager. While always interested in medicine it would take Ashley another 7 years to take a shot at her goal. This journey led to post-college-burnout customer service and sales job that became a career out of necessity, followed by a hunger for learning and a pursuit of a new career in healthcare. While Ashley enjoyed both her work as a medical assistant in Dermatology and General Surgery and the growing knowledge gained by her after-work academic life, she had developed a need to study more rigorously, a frustration with the lack of primary care providers entering the workforce, and a passion for social justice.

At the age of 28 she returned to her hometown to, finally, study premed and volunteer for a domestic violence shelter. A rural shadowing experience before medical school prompted her to commit to primary care in a rural setting and apply to the National Health Service Corp. The brilliant and ever justice-centered faculty for the OHSU School of Medicine Rural Health and AHEC gently directed Ashley toward Klamath Falls where she fell in love with both the people and the place. This introduction developed into a mentorship, and that lead to Ashley participating in the Oregon FIRST program spending her last year of medical school working with the community and designing a research project targeted to improve primary care outcomes. Now, right at home in Klamath Falls, Ashley enjoys any time available with her boyfriend Chad and his 2 children, hiking and jogging with her dog, attending Zumba classes in the community, painting, guitar and is very active in her church community at KCC. 

Georgetown University School of Medicine

Seth was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He stayed in Indiana for college (Wabash College, B.A. Philosophy), then spent one year in Scranton, PA with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. He then attended medical school in Washington, DC. In his last year of medical school, he did a family medicine rotation in Juneau, Alaska. This experience opened his desire to learn full-spectrum family medicine in a rural setting. He feels so fortunate to have started his profession with the doctors, staff, and patients of Cascades East. 

University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health

Caitlin’s path to Family Medicine began after graduating high school with her thirty classmates in Wisconsin. Sadly, she was forced to leave her job at the local truck stop to complete her education, earning a bachelors degree in Kinesiology. As a medical student in the Wisconsin Academy for Rural Medicine (WARM), she was exposed to the meaningful relationships that develop between a rural doctor and their patients. She is excited to practice full spectrum Family Medicine and find her niche within a practice and community. Having spent her entire life in Wisconsin, she was chomping at the bit for something new. She is thrilled to have landed in Klamath Falls and has already begun to take advantage of the plethora of outdoor activities. Caitlin has no doubt she will be ready for anything at the end of her residency and is so happy to be training with the wonderful faculty and residents of Cascades East. Aside from her hospital and clinic life, Caitlin enjoys biking, hiking, running, kayaking and anything else that allows her to be in nature and soak up some sunshine. 

Western University of Health Sciences/College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific

Daniel Mosher is originally from California, but moved to Oregon with his family when he was 9 years old. From the time Daniel first arrived in Oregon, he knew he never wanted to leave. Oregon embodies many things that Daniel enjoys, namely the great outdoors.

Daniel married his best friend from childhood (celebrating nearly ten years of marriage) and together they began the journey through medicine shortly after he graduated high school. Daniel worked many jobs during his undergraduate education at Portland State University, including carpentry, building maintenance & being a unit secretary at OHSU in Portland. In pursuit of his goal to never leave Oregon, Daniel attended Western University of Health Sciences COMP-NW in Lebanon, Oregon. During his second year of medical school, a couple of first year residents from Cascades East represented the program at a residency fair and were exceedingly welcoming and optimistic. That night, Daniel went home and told his wife that he could see himself at that program, and was very interested in their residency. Needless to say, he is overjoyed to be in Klamath Falls and to be receiving his training in full spectrum care from Cascades East. Daniel is passionate about both lifestyle medicine, as well as Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT). He aspires to integrate OMT into his practice, offering alternative modalities of care to his patients. 

Together with his wife Savannah, and their two sons Ender and Ransom, Daniel enjoys anything that gets him outdoors including rock climbing, cycling, hiking and playing at the park with his kids. In addition to outdoor activities, Daniel spends his free time cooking, roasting coffee & creating artisan leather products.

University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health

Drew was born and raised in the scenic Driftless Area of southwestern Wisconsin. Growing up there instilled an appreciation for the outdoors, but eventually the bluffs of Wisconsin could not compete with the mountains of the West. The opportunity to move west presented itself after completing undergraduate education and medical school at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. The rural, full-spectrum training and genuine residents and faculty at Cascades East Family Medicine Residency were the perfect match. Drew is excited to form relationships with the denizens of South Central Oregon, whether that is through public health initiatives, in continuity clinic, on the inpatient service, or out on the many hiking trails of this region. Isn’t that what Family Medicine is all about? 

Temple University School of Medicine

Katie grew up in the beautiful, rolling farmlands of Lancaster County, PA where she spent her tomboy childhood tagging along after her twin brother and begging to be allowed to play all the sports with him and his friends. After having her fill of fresh produce and Amish buggies, she decided to move to the big city and completed college and medical school in Philadelphia. She spent her college years discussing great books, playing soccer, and traveling whenever she could. A cross-country bike trip after college left her with her first taste of the beauty of Oregon, and varied experiences in Africa, Arizona, Tennessee, and North Philadelphia convinced her of the need for good primary care. Though her attachment to city-living only grew over 4 years of medical school working with the most disadvantaged, diverse populations in Philly, Katie’s desire for full-spectrum family medicine and love of the outdoors prompted her to look for more rural programs, and of course Oregon was calling. It didn’t take much to convince her boyfriend, Ryan to make the cross-country trip with her (though his old truck required a bit more persuading). Katie is excited for the chance to explore new places, learn from new people, and hopefully find her place in the beautiful town of Klamath Falls. 

Oregon Health & Science University

Dallas is from Oregon - born in Hillsboro, raised in the Wallowas in NE Oregon, and graduated from high school in Sandy. After marrying his lovely wife Katie, whom he met in Driver's Ed, he graduated from Western Oregon University with a degree in chemistry. After graduation, Dallas left his job at Winco and together he and Katie road tripped through Mexico for the next 6 months. While in Oaxaca, Dallas worked in a public health clinic that both terrified and inspired him to continue in medicine. After a few years of working in research at the Portland VA medical center, Dallas began his study of medicine at OHSU. During medical school, Dallas spent a year in Peru eating delicious food and drinking warm beer on a Fulbright-Fogarty scholarship. He also studied T. solium, the pork tapeworm that causes the seizure disorder, neurocysticercosis. While in school he fell in love with family medicine because he gets to build relationships with people and a community over many years - building health together. In these years, Katie transitioned from being a high school Spanish teacher to become a full-time vegetable farmer. 

They are both very excited to live and work in Klamath Falls. Dallas loves to be outside - hiking, backpacking, and playing basketball are his favorite hobbies. And he loves that his kitchen frequently looks like a farmer's market!
